LANGUAGE ARTS:	- Novel Study: "Dear Jo"     - reading book about Internet Safety, Friendship, Death/Loss
MATH	- practiced Xtra Math (basic skills) - Adding Money (decimals) - Using a calculator to figure out money amounts (multiplication) - Problem solving questions involving money (real world) - Planning a party with a budget of $75  The assignments above are all a part of one booklet.  It is now overdue if it has not been turned in. - Started to work on Multiplying by 10, 100, 1000

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25

SOCIAL STUDIES	- Last class to work on a Post Card being sent to a family member in Europe during 1867 trying to convince them to move to Canada.  They were to draw 2 pictures of possible jobs on the front and describe 2 possible jobs in in their message.  They need to make sure they include a mailing address (somewhere one of Canada's immigrants would have come from) as well as their own address (keep in mind they must live in one of the 4 original provinces in Canada) This is homework if not finished! Due tomorrow!

SCIENCE	Hybrid Animal  - This is now Homework if incomplete  Lift and Gravity - how is an airplane able to achieve lift?  We did a small experiment using paper to create an airfoil shape to represent the wing of a plane. Very short quiz about lift and gravity next class
FRENCH	- matching sheet- match sentences that describe the location of an object with the correct picture (sur, sous, deviant, derrier, dans, a cote de)

Today was our first day with The Artist in the School!

We had a great time!

Students had to spend time writing about themselves trying to use the right side of their brain.  This meant that they were to write without worrying about spelling or grammar.  They were supposed to write whatever popped into their head.  This helped them with creativity.  I was shocked at how much some students were able to write - especially those who always tell me they have nothing to say!  It was fantastic to see!!

Later on, we were asked to participate in a drawing activity where the students paired up with another student.  One student had to describe the picture below to their partner and they had to draw the picture without looking at it.  They only had their partner's words to listen to while trying to recreate the image.  Some of the pictures were pretty interesting.  I think they learned how important it is to choose the right words when describing something.
